Introduction

Daffodil Family has always had a long tradition of Leadership in ICT and Educational Development in Bangladesh since the year 1990. It is running a program of an integrated pathway of academic institutions, dedicated to expanding access to education to an International Standard of Excellence. It operates Daffodil International University (DIU), Daffodil institute of IT (DIIT), Daffodil International College (DIC), Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI), and thus provides services to more than 20,000 students in Bangladesh. In 2009, it initiated another milestone named as Daffodil International School (DIS), first chain school in 64 districts of Bangladesh that strives to create a harmonious balance between academic demands, sporting, cultural activities and community life. Thus the Academies of Daffodil Group, educate young candidates from pre-primary to University. The Group is also developing new schools in Malaysia, Nepal, Dubai, Bahrain, and the UK as a part of the global chain school.

Why Daffodil International School

History

Establishment

Famous business Personality Dr. Md. Sabur Khan initiated the activities to establish a school in his home district from 2008. The School started its academic activities in the year 2009. The school was inaugurated by the then Foreign Minister and present Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP.


Recognition of Primary Section

The Primary Section is recognized by Directorate of Primary Education, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Bangladesh. Recognition Attachment

Recognition of Junior Section

The school is recognized to start the academic activities of Junior Secondary Classes from 03/01/2012 by the Education Board of Cumilla. The memorandum no. is mentioned in the following photo.

Recognition of Secondary Section

The school is recognized as a Junior Secondary School from 05/04/2016, by the Education Board of Cumilla. The memorandum no. is mentioned in the following photo.

Permission of Secondary Section

The school is permitted to start the academic activities of  secondary classes from 31/5/ 2018 by the Education Board of Cumilla. The memorandum no. is mentioned in the following photo.


Academic Plan

The session is divided into three quarters with a term exam.

DIS believes in teamwork  with parents and in order to make this effective, results of exams are distributed to the guardians through individual progress report cards. The exam sheets are also shown to guardians after each type of exam. 

From Play Group to STD-III, term tests cover 75% of the total marks. The Tutorial exam  covers the remaining 25% marks. For other classes, term tests cover 100%  marks.  Passing score is 50 percent of the total marks.

Although much of the curriculum is covered in classes, students are expected to reinforce and supplement this and develop their study skills through completing assignments, revising and studying at home. Parents are required to provide every support and to encourage their children to take responsibility for finishing any home-task.

We have two versions(Bengali and English)  in Chandpur Campus. In both versions, we follow the curriculum of the NCTB. Our students participate in all the board exams (PEC, JSC and SSC). We are very proud to mention that we have 100% pass with a good number of scholarships in every board exam from our beginning to till the date.

Co-curriculum Activities

Co curricular activities are as important as academics in molding the all round personality of the students. DIS offers plenty of opportunities in this area through Cultural Club , Language Club,   Debate Club, Sports and Games Club and Religious Study Club. 

Digital Archive Library System

DIS Digital Library is the face of our fame and recognition as IT backed School. While opening new departments or programs in our school, the relevant books, information and resources are being collected and stored by hard and soft copies in this library. Our students use the materials in library hours and before or after the end of their class hours under the supervision of the course teacher.

Discipline

Dress Code

All Daffodil Schools have a unique dress code. No student will be allowed to attend classes if found not attired in the mandatory school uniform. 

School uniform  

Boys(Primary section): White shirt, Navy Blue pant, Navy blue tie with school badge and black shoes.

Girls(Primary section): White shirt, Navy blue skirt, Navy blue tie with school badge and black shoes.

Boys(High section): White shirt, Navy Blue pant, Navy blue tie with school badge and white shoes.

Girls(High Section): White Salwar Kameez with Navy blue cross belt, Navy blue scarf and white shoes.

Identity card

A color- coded personal identity card (in a plastic cover ) must be worn with a school ribbon. It’s mandatory to be on the school campus.

Admission Procedure

We provide both Online and On-Campus admission procedure. The admission form can be collected from the School Building. The completed admission form must be returned to the School admission office and students will have to participate in an admission test. Successful candidates have to complete the formalities of admission within a designated period.
